Is this the kind of crap that is coming into your head?

So what do you do when you are saying this to yourself?

I know it is demoralizing and paralyzing to have to deal with. It appears to be a problem without a solution.

If you are lucky, they will train you in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

CBT is where you start to discuss and debate the issues raised within your own mind. Though this sort of arguing with yourself is pretty fruitless.

It is impossible to reason with these unreasonable thoughts.

AS much pointed discussion as I have had with myself, I’ve never heard the reply: ‘you’re right, you’re not such a bad person after all.’  It is like arguing with hatred and loathing, its a waste of time, it just doesn’t work.

So internal bickering is as far as I got with CBT.

So I don’t really support CBT or medication. They are symptom management; their goal is not to resolve the issue once and for all.

What we’ve managed to do is apply a completely different framework to this issue. We named this condition something else.

We call it a pain body.

When someone is carrying a pain body, it presents with exactly these symptoms. The one we are talking about today is negative self talk.
